San Francisco Decompression

Julian shot his signature black background light painting photos at the San Francisco, Burning Man Decompression Party. We needed total darkness, so we took them inside a box truck.

Saturday August 13th, 2011.

Famed Burning Man photographer Julian Cash teamed up with storytelling maven Dixie De La Tour to provide audience interaction & entertainment, sharing the stories & images of Burning Man.

Forgoing the traditional book reading, this event presented a magical series of six 10-minute anecdotes of Burning Man shenanigans from veteran and iconic Burners.

6:00 -> 7:30 - Gallery show + snacks + book signing (free)
7:30 -> 10:00 - Storytelling ($10)
10:00 -> 12:00 - Gallery show + snacks + book signing (free)

There is a $10 admission price for 'The People of Burning Man' storytelling event, and gallery was accessible for viewing & book purchase for free after 10 PM. A Show at Ritual Roasters in SF

Here you can read a more detailed account of the story of my show at Ritual Roasters.

The best coffee on the planet can be found at Ritual Roasters! You can now also find some the wonderful Burning Man photographs on the walls.

I didn't know much about the controversy till after my images were already on the walls of Ritual Roasters. It seems that my images were put up after a heated peculiar controversy which some folks are calling censorship and others are calling bad curration.

I'll just say that the photos in this show of my work would not be allowed any narrow minded cafe. Starbucks certainly would never allow these images on their walls.

For example, you can see a 60' long version of this images of over 150 women who participated in critical tits.

To see some of the crazy drama, there are a few links here. But remember, use your discretion to distinguish what's actually true. A photo of one of my photos and a write up of the drama.

I am honored to be showing my photographs at Ritual Roasters. Thank you Eileen and ChickenJohn. You guys are wonderful!
